There are several brands of e-cigarettes that we could comfortably place at or near the top of our rankings. By a narrow margin, we have chosen V2 Cigs as our top-rated electronic cigarette. The factors that led to our decision are vapor and technology.

V2 Cigs had the thickest vapor and one of the strongest hits of the e-cigarettes we’ve tested; we found their claim of “the thickest vapor in the business” was spot on. The vapor cloud was thick enough to give a hit that was quite satisfying (particularly with the tobacco flavors), and gave us enormous exhales – we could even blow thick smoke rings with ease.  V2 has now taken their products to a new level with EX cartridges and batteries – we particularly liked the carts, which last nearly twice as long as their older ones, and have a softer, more pleasant feel when you put them between your lips.

The V2 Ultimate Kit that we tested included three batteries: a short one, a 110mm one, and a 140mm (yes, it really is that long, and the longer time the charge lasted was great) manual battery. Rotating them gave us plenty of time to smoke while one of the batteries recharged. That was convenient enough, but the portable charging case that comes with the kit added to the convenience factor; you just charge the case (which is smaller than a pack of cigarettes) and then you can charge your e-cigs 3 or 4 times while on the go – meaning you can spend the day away from a power source and never have to worry about “running out.” The Power Cig that came with the kit allows you to hook directly into a USB port and smoke at your desk without worrying about charging anything; there’s also a car charger for even more convenience.

As for that manual battery (an optional choice when you order), there’s a tiny button right where your fingers rest on the e-cig, and you depress the button just before taking a hit; it heats the flavor crystals to give you an even fuller, concentrated hit. A bit awkward at first, but definitely worth it when you’re looking for a strong inhale.

On first glance, V2 has some interesting model designs. There are the traditional white batteries, of course. But then the battery choices range from chrome, to fully sleek blue, to black. If you’re looking to make a fashion statement, the chrome design is almost futuristic. V2 certainly isn’t the only company to have an all-blue design, but it’s definitely interesting. More to our liking is the extra-long, 140mm white battery which can give a truly elegant look to a woman’s smoking. The filter/cartridge colors are dependent on the flavor: for example, cork for tobacco flavors, green for menthol, blue for peppermint, and so on. EX batteries last, on average, longer than it would take to smoke a pack of cigarettes.

V2 Cigs come in five strengths, from 24mg of nicotine (extra strength), down through 18mg (full flavor), light, ultra-light and zero-nicotine; that either lets you choose the strength of your e-cigarette on a regular basis, or lets you taper down gradually if that’s your choice. One other note: V2 doesn’t “shut off” like some other e-cigs do, when your inhale goes longer than five seconds; we’re not sure if the issue is one of safety, but we do know that if you want a power hit, V2 lets you take it.

V2 cartridges come in a lot of flavors. In fact, it’s one of the biggest varieties on the market with ten different flavors: three tobacco blends including Red and Turkish, Menthol, Mint Tea and Peppermint, Coffee and Chocolate, Vanilla, Cola, Grape and Cherry (we liked the coffee, chocolate and vanilla best).  Each V2 EX cartridge is equal to about 1 1/2 to two packs of cigarettes; that’s one of the highest lives you’ll find anywhere. They’ve also added freshness dating to their cartridges, which is a feature we think other companies should copy; and they have made available batch reports for your shipments, letting you get a customized report on your carts – nicotine levels, contents and so on.

They also have lots of marketing people on the case, with a seemingly endless number of specials and deals, in addition to the huge choices of looks, flavors and strengths. They also have a number of specialty products for e-cig aficionados who prefer to buy the e-liquid and refill their cartridges, such as ‘drip tips’ in either aluminum or rubber, making the process a snap; flavor samplers to let you decide which you like best; custom-made cartridges allowing you to choose all the specs – the list goes on.

    I tried 2 other e-Cigs and just gave up on them. Then I saw a friend of mine w a V2Cig and tried it. Wow. Very different! I have used the V2 foe 6 months now. Have completely given up Cigs!! Orders do take abt a week + to get, so order early.

    UPDATE:

    Just got my order today. I ordered on the 17th so it actually only took what, 8 days? And part of that was a weekend. Turns out aside from the 2 day delay on getting it shipped out it actually came pretty fast for using $5 flat rate crap shipping. There was a small problem with thinking it got lost en-route because when you pay for USPS shipping through v2 they actually send the product with “UPS Mail Innovations” which is a side division of UPS. UPS then delivers it to the USPS office in the destination town. Because of all this trading of hands my package didn’t get scanned as often as it should have so I didn’t get any tracking updates since Orlando Florida on the 19th. UPS actually said at one point they couldn’t find it and i should report it lost with v2. However the nice guy at v2 support on the phone named Moses told me to just give it another day or two, and low and behold it showed up today with no warning. Haven’t tried everything yet, but the charging case, two of the three batteries and every flavor cart I’ve tried so far all work perfect. I love all the flavors. Just gotta test my Pass-through device and use my charging case while out and about to see how long the batteries will last me during the day. Have a feeling I’m gonna tear through carts a lot faster than I thought I would, but so far I am a very happy customer. Thanks v2. Hope everyone else ends up as happy with their orders as I did. Just remember what Cyndi said, order earlier than you think you need to.

    Got my v2 ecig 1 week ago and today got my vapor couture rose gold e cig! I LOVE IT!!!!!! I have smoked real cigs for 16 years and since being introduced to ecigs haven’t smoked a real cig in 3 weeks. Did some research on best e cig and v2 came up as number 1. The best decision of my life! I’m a huge fan . For the ladies the vapor couture is amazing light weight, skinny and pretty. I have ordered from v 2 three different times and my order has come in 2 to 3 days later. Haven’t even had to deal with costumer service.

    I never had any problems with V2 cigs, except during the Christmas period yes their shipping was late. And they do have the best tasting vapor. I tried E-Lites and Karma e-cigs and V2 tastes the best.

    I haven’t had any major problems with V2 after 12 weeks. I will say that when considering trying V2 you should note:
    1.the $5 shipping is very annoying in light of the long shipping times and shouldn’t be a profit vehicle is you can’t deliver your product fast.
    2.the “manual” button model is definitely the way to go for the best throat hit and strength of vapor although it’s a little different way to smoke but much more satisfying.
    3.Order early and order lots of them to avoid the shipping charges
    4.I have had only a few “car duds”
    5.If you were a Marlboro smoker, try the Congress. Coffee is also surprisingly good. All of the flavors I’ve tried darn good!
    6.The longer the “battery”, the better the hit and longer between charges
    7.I found that at first I was using both vapes and cigs and one day just stopped buying cigs AFTER I got the longest manual battery type. I did have to increase my dose to full but it’s better that puffing more times. Careful that you don’t escalate your dosing because nicotine is VERY addictive as we all know.
    8.I’ve smoked for 45 years almost 2 packs a day and NEVER thought I could get cigarettes out of my life! I have health issues and this was the answer to my prayers.
    9. V2 owners should visit Zappos or Newegg (free shipping both ways)for a lesson in becoming number one in customer service AND sales. Their success is not an accident. Their attitude is that they are first in the customer service business and happen to sell products. They HELP you spend your money! What a concept! Take a lesson..It’s free advice and simple to execute. Why bother if your not going to be the best! It’s the business plan of the new millennium. Some of the bad comments above should be humiliating to you! Are you paying attention? Someone else will come along and crush you and what a pity it will be because your product is great! Your business SHOULD be on fire!

    I am a V2 customer. Reordered my monthly supply on Monday. I like V2 best! I have tried some of the other brands and by far V2 is my favorite. Their customer service is what customer service used to be when customers were important and I really really like that.

    I purchased my usual cartridges but am also purchasing some blanks and filler this time around. Not sure how that will work, but I am hoping that the quality is the same as the cartridges.

    Very disappointed in the shipping. They are several days late in actually getting my order shipped out. I have inquired a couple of times, and just receive this strange attitude like, “We’re only one day late”, or “We’re only two days late” we will ‘try to upgrade your shipping service’. Then it doesn’t happen, the package doesn’t get shipped. They’ve all ready got my money, what do I do? In the past I’ve contacted them about orders, and they just aren’t very helpful and they really don’t care. Too busy on pinterest I guess.

    Hi I was a smoker 2 1/2 packs day for 31 yrs. Switched to v2 three months ago and never looked back.. I ve had excellent experiences with their service and products, maybe just been lucky so far- hope it continues. No complaints here as of yet :) Have recommended them to 2 friends who have also been very satisfied !!

    I Bought a starter kit labor day weekend and love vaping. I’ve smoked less than a pack all month and do not even like when I do smoke anymore, even with a drink.

    The V2 kit was good and I like the batteries. I got an automatic and manual. Still nto sure what I like best but Auto is needed if you are going to keep it in your pocket.

    I have switched to the Red Oak Domestically made VG liquid for my refills and enjoy that much better. No chemical taste.

    I ordered the starter pack and it came very fast, then I ordered a pack of carts and chekcking on the status of my order after two days it was still in “awaiting fullfillment” mode, wondering why I contacted customer support via chat and they informed me that the item was out of stock, I asked them to switch my order to another flavor and it was shipped right away.
    I think the problem lies on them not informing the customer when they are out of stock on some item, that needs to be fixed asap, otherwise I’m very happy with their products and is helping me a lot to cut back and possible quit real tobacco completely.

    I have been using v2 since February however lately the filters have lasted half the time…was wondering if anyone was experiencing that? Not as many puffs in them as before and I am kind of bummed because I am really happy with the flavor however starting to feel like I should try other companies because filters are dead after 12-15 puffs! Some even have liquid in the packaging when I open them…in the plastic piece you pull off. I have gotten dead filters a few times but now just half filters. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong? Is it possible I just got two bad batches? I really want to stay with V2 however I really need a e-cig that I DO NOT have to refill whose cartridges are already full…please help

    I received my v2 standard starter kit today, November 1st, 2012. I ordered it for my wife and because it was ranked #1 at this site. My wife is a former smoker who sometimes smokes to stay awake when she is driving on a long trip. I have never smoked. Her 1st drag from the v2 she says “wow” she takes another drag and says “that’s amazing…..these guys got it down, these are way better than those other ones” (e-cigs brand). I just goofed around and tried blowing smoke rings with ‘em. So I cannot tell you if they are good or not but they are kinda fun. Now I want to say something about placing the order. After reading all the negative comments here about cust. service my opinion was they were at least exaggerations if not lies from the competitors of v2 because v2 is ranked higher. I place my order on Saturday the 27th of October and received an e-mail at 10:00 AM (pacific time) confirming my order. I get a second e-mail at 12:15 PM, Sat., telling me the order was shipped! That means v2 got my order at 1 PM eastern time and shipped it at 3:15 PM ET Saturday! I received the order 4 business days later! I did pay an extra $5 for priority mail. The order was exactly what I ordered. So far I am please with v2.

    I started with Mistic, then Blue and V2. None of these products stopped me from smoking.

    After some more research, I purchased White Cloud and I have not smoked since. Better batteries and better delivery in my opinion.

    Whatever e-cig you choose, please stick with it and try other brands until you quit smoking cigarettes.

    I also started with Mistic, it was horrible. A friend talked me into trying Blu, not so good either. I saw the advertisement for V2 and ordered a kit. Though not yet received I am looking forward to its arrival, as EVERYONE that I know of that uses V2 says it is great. Analog cigarettes are a thing of the past for me.

    i have been a V2 customer for a couple of months and i live in Australia, my shipping cost is $54.95 and its International Express Post via USPS and Australia Post. i love the product and have had no problem with it. my first order arrived within the acceptable International Express Shipping time considering i ordered prior to a weekend. i do have a bit of a gripe with V2CigsAustralia who have gone upped their price for a 40pack carton to $89.95 when the Australian Dollar is higher than the US Dollar! that to me is appalling however their shipping is quick and on Australia Express Post. The irony there is that they charged tax on the Express Postage when in Australia Express Post has already added the tax to its postage so “SOMEONE” is skimming off the top and doesnt believe that people are actually smart and not stupid! i prefer to get my order from the USA and pay that large International Express Post charge and know that i am getting a fresh product! from the one order we received through V2CigAustralia the seem stale and some of their cartridges are dried out and where you get the vapour youre not getting the nicotine.
    I agree with @Cyndie – order early and you wont run out nor will you sit their waiting for the postman to arrive. my second order from V2Cigs USA took almost 2 weeks to arrive on a 4 day delivery but it was held up in transit in Florida and no-one knows why! i have to admit here that i did the wrong thing and waited till i was nearly out before ordering! its the wrong way to go about it. you have to be a month ahead of yourself in every order so that you have stock on hand while the next one is coming in = problem solved! i have just placed my 3rd order with the USA V2Cigs well in advance and ordered one product that was on sale…. if my order is delayed it will be because there was a demand for the one product that was a sale item and nothing to do with the rest of my regular order but i still have enough cartridges to cope with that at the moment! i do not get paid to say what i am saying here, i am telling it as it has occured. as for the “PERSON CLAIMING TO BE V2″ that made that awful comment: has it occured to anyone that it actually wasnt anyone from the company but a troll that is just generally disgruntled in life???? as there was a reply from “ADMIN” of this page that was acceptable Customer Service reply. Dont knock the product till you have tried it. i have smoked for 28 years and NO-ONE has told me to go on these or to quit smoking because i love smoking too much to give it up. I discovered V2Cigs by accident at a “Hogs Breath Cafe” here in Australia when i went out for a smoke and a girl with blue hair came out and pulled out her V2 and i was intrigued! it was word of mouth for me, she told me that she had tried a lot of other companies, did the research and spent the money finding the “right one for her” which turned out o be V2…unfortunately for her she didnt have her discount coupon card to give to me so she has lost a sale and i feel really sorry for her in that respect as i am a great repeat customer and i dont know how to find her as she was visiting my state from another state for a holiday and special birthday party. But whoever she was i want to thank you sincerely and if she ever reads this i hope that she can reply to my comment and that we can contact V2Cigs USA (and she warned me about the Australian Companies too) to see if she can get some for of redemption for me becoming a loyal customer!
    In closing, i would like to say that my biggest challenge has been finding the flavour i like the best for which is “Congress” so it has taken time to get used to what you like…. i think the 10pack flavour sampler is a good idea. for a smoker of 28 years to have gone to an alternative to smoking as in Vaping i never realised that i was actually stopping SMOKING!!!! but i am nor do i ever intend to quit Vaping! so better for me and better for the environment. i would like to ask if anyone knows what is the best way to dispose of the cartridges. I am an Environmental Scientist and there has to be a better way to dispose of them than the garbage bin! Before anyone disses that last comment, no i even as a scientist i dont know how to dispose of them properly as i am not fully aware of what is in the cartridges and it is not disclosed for my knowledge to be able to advise anyone on how to dispose of them correctly! this would be helpful…. also one more thing… if you all have these enormous complaints why are you putting them here and not on the V2Cigs page???? do you really believe that SOMEONE big from the company is going to read this?(rhetorical) this page belongs to an AFFILIATE not the actual Company of V2Cigs USA!!!!
    thank you V2Cigs – im a converter after 28 years of smoking i have everyone around me in shock and when tell my Dr im sure she will need cardiac assistance knowing how i felt about smoking! if this is truly a new company then there is always going to be some things that need to be straightened out after the honeymoon period. i wouldnt know as i dont know how old the company is… as i said before i discovered this company via divine intervention and im doing it to save money. A packet of Cigarettes in Australia costs from $21.00 – $38.00 per packet! oh yes you read it correctly!!!! so im VAPING MAN! dont care if its late, im one month ahead! it simple! you dont fix a leaking roof when its raining now do you! lol

    I tried V2 after using another company for a first experience with electronic cigs. I have also purchased several different brands available in convenience stores. I have to say V2 has surpassed all the other brands by far in quality, service, everything. They were a bit slow in delivery when I first started using the company in early 2012. However, I can see a big change for the better in shipping time this year. I’m not sure what they are doing differently but I placed the last 2 orders with the free shipping method and received my order 4 days later! That’s right only 4 days! I love the product and have never had anyone that has been rude as the people above have stated. My husband is a non smoker and he could not stand smelling cigarette smoke on me ( i didn’t care for it either) Now he’s a happy camper and so am I. I get the satisfaction I received from smoking and I don’t stink. That means everything to me and my relationship with my husband. The only down side to V2 that I can see is that they are a privately held company. I wish they would go public because I would love to buy stock in the company. I am totally convinced vapor cigarettes will do nothing but become more popular!!!

    Okay V-2 – I am currently using Greensmoke and have many many friends of mine using GreenSmoke. I am not fond to your reply to Rachel (who I know nothing about) but do consider reviews very helpful. I really really do like Greenmoke but thought about trying another brand. After many reviews V2 was intriguing but the reviews were mixed and your comment is a little concerning. So will keep looking. Sorry but your statement confirms customer service is not up to par. GreenSmoke has very good customer service so I am guessing you probably will tell me to stick with them ( as I probably will).

    Buyer Beware

    V2 Cigs has competent marketing. Their products are compare well to what is available from other vendors. It is easy to make purchases from their website. However, placing an order and paying for the product does not necessarily mean that you will receive your product.

    I ordered products from the V2 website that I have not received. I made repeated requests that they ship my products to no avail. Finally, I requested that they credit back to my card the money that they have taken from me. I have not had any success getting V2 Cigs to resolve the transaction.

    This was my third order with V2, and my last. This experience has made me regret any interaction with the company. I will also mention that they will not ship on the same day that you order. It makes no difference the time of day, they will hold your order from shipping for at least 24 hours before shipping.
